Job Title: Permanent Part-Time Imam

Location: Zakariyya Jaam’e Masjid, 20 Peace St, Bolton, BL3 5LJ
Position Type: Part-time permanent
Working Hours: Weekends and additional hours as needed

About Us:
Zakariyya Jaam’e Masjid is a vibrant and welcoming charity/masjid dedicated to enhancing the lives of our local community. We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable individual to lead our congregation in prayers and foster spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily prayers at agreed times from the committee, including one of the Jumu'ah prayers on Fridays

• Teach children in the madrasah

• Conduct lectures, classes, and Tafseer of the Quran as required

• Lead Janazah prayers and be available for burials and Nikaah ceremonies

• Organize and manage classes for both adults and children when needed

• Ensure the correct conduct of worship and regularly advise the community on Islamic matters

• Collaborate with the team of ulamah and imam(s) to provide Islamic guidance to the community

• Lead Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan

Requirements:

• Proficiency in English, Arabic, and Urdu

• Hafidh of the Holy Quran

• Degree in Islamic Studies (Aalim degree)

• Ability to confidently deliver speeches in English and Urdu

• Capability to inspire and engage with youth

• A clear Islamic vision for the community with the ability to articulate, plan, and implement it

• Actively participate in interfaith, Tablighi Dawah, and community activities
