Activity: Tajweed Class
Published At: Thu 29 Dec 2022
Islam gives great importance to learning the Tajweed Quran, it places those who learn the Qur’an in a higher rank and status than others. In this regard, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “The best of you (i.e. Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
A Muslim gets 10 rewards for every letter he reads from the Quran with Tajweed, so imagine how many rewards you can get from reciting a verse or surah from the Qur’an! In this regard, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.”
One of the most important benefits of learning the Quran in Tajweed and reciting it regularly is that the Quran comes as an intercessor for us on the Day of Resurrection. In this regard, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: (Read the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection).
Arabic is a very sensitive language. A slight mispronunciation can completely change the meaning. Learning to recite the Qur’an with Tajweed protects the reader from making mistakes in reciting the Qur’an, and thus attains the satisfaction of God Almighty.
Learning Tajweed is an absolute necessity, for whoever does not apply Tajweed in the Qur’an is sinning. In this regard, God Almighty says: “And recite the Qur’an in a correct manner.”
The Quran is not only a collection of revelations and commands from God (swt) but it is also a beautiful work of poetry and language. It has been said that no other scripture demonstrates the flexibility of language and the depth of word choice as the Qur’an. Those who learn the Quran online with Tajweed have a richer understanding of the poetry of the text. After all, intonation simply means “embellishment” or “adornment”.
One of the vital benefits of learning Tajweed is that it helps us understand the Quranic verses that we read, recite or memorize. The Qur’an was revealed to humanity not only to read, but to understand and reflect on.
